PRESS RELEASE: DLSU grade hotline

DLSU has been constantly looking for ways to improve how student information is disseminated to all students.

Two years ago, DLSU in partnership with Globe introduced the Animo Sim and the Globe hotline 2333 for University-related concerns.

Students just need to type one of the several available keywords, like DO and EMERGENCY, and their ID numbers to 2333 and they will immediately receive information and updates about DLSU events, class schedules and enrollment and final exams schedules. The students can also access the Discipline Office (DO) and the Information Technology Center (ITC) through text.

Grades can also be viewed using the text hotline. Students only need to type DLSU [space] grades [space] their ID number, and they will receive a text message containing their grades for the term.

The service has become an alternative way to make the grades more accessible to the students after the several times the My.LaSalle (MLS) system crashed during last year’s online grade viewing.

The University Student Government (USG) raised a concern regarding the privacy of grades since the text hotline does not require a password, only the ID number.

The keyword for the grades was still accessible during last term’s grade consultation day; however, the service keyword was disabled right after because of the said security issue.
