As Luigi de la Paz scrambled to save a ball possesion, a Letran Knight forcibly grabbed his arm, resulting in a recurrence of his shoulder dislocation, technically a displacement of the arm bone from the socket.

“Injuries are part of basketball since it’s really a physical game,” de la Paz shared.

The ex-Zobel cager needs one week to rest and two weeks of allowance and recovery for the strengthening of his shoulder.

As a result of this resting period, de la Paz is set to miss three to four games, including the anticipated UST match-up at the Arena in San Juan.

Before being sidelined due to the shoulder injury, de la Paz served quality minutes for the Taft-based squad as he poured five points, nine assists and four rebounds in the said April 27 encounter.

De la Paz, who norms 5.5 points, 5 five assists and 2.5 rebounds at the on-going Fil Oil Flying V Pre-season Hanes Cup, will be missed at the shooting guard post.

“It’s sad that I won’t be able to help the team since I’ll be out. On the other hand, [it will not help for me to] show any frustration, so [I'll] just continue to support the team,” de la Paz expressed.

Other wounded Archers include L.a. Revilla (peroneal foot injury), Arnold Van Opstal (hamstring injury), Yutien Andrada (sprain) and rookie Gabby Reyes (groin injury).
