The Green and Lady Booters started the season in contrasting ways, but are looking to celebrate victory today.

Igniting a streak

The Green Booters started the season on the wrong foot. The lost, 0-3,againstFEU, but managed to make a comebackin a match against NU. The DLSU squad pummeled the newcomers, 4-0.

In the Green Booters’ game today, expect the teamto exact vengeance against arch nemesis, theAteneo Blue Booters. The Loyola Heights squad, which finished fifth out of six teams in season 74, cost Green-and-White XI a place in the finals last season after beating the latter in two identical, 1-0, occasions. Incidentally, those were the only two wins of the Blue Booterslast season.

Currently, La Salle is a point behind Ateneo in the standings after the latter’s win against UST last Wednesday.

Expect skipper and ace Goalkeeper Patrick Deyto and the rest of the Green Booters to attempt to capture the team’s second straight win by halting Ateneo’s impressive start.

Breaking away from deadlocks

The Lady Booters will go for the top spot, as the team attempts to challenge defending champion, the UST Tigresses, in a rematch of last season’s finals.

Last month’s victory against UST at the WSL Cup Final has inspired the Lady Booters to grab the team’s first win of the season.

Nonetheless, Coach Hans Smit’s wards have to be wary of Black-and-Gold squad, which came from a, 0-3, drubbing in the hands of FEU last Wednesday. Having a championship pedigree, the UST Tigresses will go all out today to avoid another defeat.

As both teams find themselves behind FEU and Ateneo in the standings, expect these two powerhouses make bold moves today.
