Enzo the Little Archer bids goodbye

While the crowd went wild with the intense sports action of the UAAP and while spectators’ eyes were focused on the players on court, a little boy drew the sports community’s attention as he cheered “Animo!” from the sidelines.

Enzo Recto, the boy who became an instant fan-favorite after his first appearance in the duel between the DLSU Green Archers and the UP FIghting Maroons during the Season 75 eliminations, became known to the entire La Salle community as the “Little Archer”. His cheers from the Animo Squad during that game started his journey as the little icon from the sidelines who enthusiastically cheers for the Green-and-White squad.

Often seen sporting a green La Salle shirt during basketball and volleyball games, this five-year-old kid, is undeniably an Archer at heart. Enzo is the son of a La Salle alumnus. His delightful antics captured the hearts of every DLSU athlete, student, and employee. It is of no doubt that Enzo the Little Archer has become the most loved and most adored little boy in DLSU to date.

Like many Archers who have gone before, Enzo will also bid farewell to the Lasallian community. On March 27, the number one fan of Team La Salle will be going back to his family’s second home, Arizona.

Enzo made his final exposure at DLSU during the meet-and-greet event of the Lady Spikers last Saturday, March 23, saying his last adieu not just to the defending UAAP women’s volleyball champion, but also to the Office of Sports Development (OSD), which embraced him as a part of the Lasallian community.

Enzo, the Little Archer, will certainly be missed by every Lasallian.
In various DLSU events like the Animo Thanksgiving Party, Enzo grabbed the spotlight. Students and personnel took photo opportunities with the adored Little Archer, further testifying to the growing popularity of the young boy within the University.
Moreover, during the halftime performance of the Animo Squad back in the DLSU-Adamson basketball match last September 2012, Enzo amazed the crowd with his moves added by his never-ending joyful aura that left the entire Mall of Asia Arena in awe and fascination as he joined the cheerdancers in a spectacle.

Last March 8, 2013, Enzo had an advanced 5th birthday celebration with the Lasallian community including the Green Archers and the Lady Spikers – a very special gathering that would be remembered by this kid as he embarks his way abroad.
