The DLSU Green Batters fell to the NU Bulldogs at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Diamond last January 30 with a score of 4-2. This was the first loss of the team this season and they currently sport a 6-1 record which still puts them atop the UAAP 76 standings.

The Bulldogs started the scoring with a two-run first inning. De La Salle answered with a run in the top of the second inning. However, NU extended its lead in the next half inning, tacking on another two to take the score to 4-1.

The Green Batters’ attempts to catch up were foiled by NU’s pitching which held them to just one run in the next six innings. DLSU, however, held the Bulldogs scoreless over the final seven innings. An attempted rally was squashed at the top of the ninth, only giving the Green-and-White another run to end it at 4-2.

The Green Batters aim to get back on the winning track as they face the UP Fighting Maroons on Sunday, February 2 at 7 am at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Diamond.
