Lady Booters suffer 2-0 defeat against talented Ateneo side

The DLSU Lady Booters experienced their first loss this UAAP season in the hands of the Ateneo Lady Booters with a score of 2-0 last December 14 at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field in Ateneo de Manila University.

The Taft-based squad were the aggressors early on as they gave Ateneo’s defense all it could handle. However, frequent miscommunications allowed Ateneo to respond with attacks of their own.

La Salle’s Megan Diaz had a great opportunity to score around the 15th minute but her shot flew straight into the goalkeeper’s hands. At the 23rd minute, a perfect cross by Ateneo’s Angela Catedrilla finds Anne Martin who headed the ball in to give ADMU it’s first goal of the match and the lead.

Ateneo then added more to DLSU’s misery in the 30th minute when midfielder Camille Rodriguez’s shot coming from Anne Martin’s assist cruised through the goal line, extending the lead to two until the halftime whistle.

La Salle was clearly hungry for a goal coming into the second half, although poor passing from the Green-and-White enabled Ateneo to stop their offense early in multiple possessions. A defensive gaffe during the 49th
