After the DLSU Men’s Football Team fell to the FEU Tamaraws in the thrilling 120-minute final of the UAAP Season 77 Men’s Football tournament, La Salle co-captain Matt Nierras shared a few inspiring words with his teammates. Together with UAAP Season 77 Best Midfielder Nathan Alquiros and team captain Gio Diamante, Nierras played the last match of his five-year UAAP career in the final.

Nierras gathered his team for a huddle after the game and said, “You guys have all the potential in the world to win everything next year and after that. You make up for this, you win it next year, you promise me that now. You promise me, you promise Gio [Diamante], you promise Nate [Alquiros], you promise all the coaches, all of them [the crowd], they came here for us.”
He then sent his younger teammates a stern reminder, “Remember this feeling, you never wanna feel this again.”
