A Sports writer sees the game in its totality – from the players to the system. A Sports writer reports through the lenses of an objective fan, seeing through the win-loss records and the statistics, willing to dig deeper into issues that confront De La Salle sports yet continues to maintain good rapport with our home grown sporting talents.
Sports staffers get to witness the glory of our athletes firsthand. Each staffer:
- Pitches article ideas during monthly storyboards
- Covers games and sports events
- Utilizes social media to document and report events
- Interacts with athletes, coaches, and admin for interviews
All applicants must have the following qualities:
- Observant, with a good eye for ideas
- Able to adjust to different situations
- Capable of quick thinking
- Creative
- Social media savvy
- Can work well with others
