UAAP: Winning streak comes to an end for DLSU Women’s Football Team

The DLSU Women’s Football Team dropped a close one, 1-0, to the UST Lady Booters, earlier today at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium. The loss ended the team’s winning streak that began last UAAP Season 79 and stretched through the PFF Women’s League.

It was a defensively inclined match that saw both teams struggle to find offense. DLSU keeper Tashka Lacson and UST keeper Nicole Reyes also both made multiple excellent saves to keep the ball out of their respective goals.

In the 73rd minute, however, UST’s Shelah Cadag scored to put the España-based squad in front, 1-0. Hazel Lustan was credited with an assist in the play that resulted in the lone goal of the match.

La Salle’s best chance came when the team was awarded a penalty kick in the 59th minute. Shannon Arthur, though, was unable to make the most of the opportunity and failed to score for the defending champions.

The loss drops the team’s record to an even 1-1 in Season 80.

DLSU resumes action on February 17, 9 am, versus FEU at the same venue.
