Archers bows to Falcons, drops PCCL bid

After leading for the most part of the game, the Green Archers failed to capitalize, and eventually succumbed to the Falcons, 63-56.

Green Archers took control over the game in the first three quarters, leading by five, 39-34. Jericho Cruz from the opposing squad gave the lead to the Falcons via three-pointer. Vosotros, however, managed to convert two technical free throws to bring back the lead to the Green-and-White squad.

Leads went back-and-forth game as Trollano scored a tip-in to bring the lead back to Adamson.
Entering the last two minutes of play, Adamson’s Cabrera-Cruz tandem triggered an 8-2 run, which pushed Adamson’s lead, 58-52.

With 38 seconds remaining, Tampus drove the basket just to get to the foul stripe, then converting only a single free throw.

Named as the best rebounding team in UAAP 75, Norbert Torres proved his worth, scoring a three-point play, which trimmed the margin, 58-56. The Green Archers, needing just a stop to tie or win the game, failed, however, to guard Cabrera, who capitalized on a dagger three-pointer.

La Salle had a chance to comeback, but Tampus’ late turnover finished the game for both sides. The game ended with Adamson outscoring La Salle in the fourth, 29-17. The loss marks the end of the Archers’ bid for the PCCL crown.

La Salle last held the PCCL crown in 2008.
