Championship form
The Lady Spikers kicked off the first set with four straight points but FEU surged back to tie the game at 12 apiece. La Salle then made an 8-2 run, fueled by the championship team’s defense, to distance the ladies from their rivals, 20-14. They then cruised to a 25-17 set victory after Kim Fajardo’s entrance moved the ladies in green to make a 1-0 lead.

The second set was no differentas the Taft-based ladies made a 7-1 lead. Much like the opening canto though, FEU did not give up and forced a deadlock at 9. Ara Galang made sure that the Lady Spikers would not succumb to pressure as she towed her team to a comfortable 18-12 lead. With momentum on La Salle’s side, the ladies puched to an easy 25-16 set victory and a commanding 2-0 advantage.

Unlike the first two sets, the Lady Spikers could not distance the team from FEU at the start of the third set, leading by just three at the halfway mark, 13-10. The resilient Lady Tamaraws did not hand over the victory to its rival. The latter managed to tie the game at 16 and took a, 17-16, lead as both teams engaged in a back-and-forth battle.

FEU then took an unprecedented 21-18 lead, which forced Coach Ramil de Jesus to call a timeout.

Ara Galang saved the game for the Lady Spikers after she made three straight points, sandwiching a service error from Michelle Gumabao. Mika Reyes then topped off the rally with a service ace to tie the set at 22.

Both teams then exchanged spikes and were tied once again at 23 before Wensh Tiu’s spike brought both teams to match point. An error by FEU capped off the thrilling set and handed La Salle its tenth straight victory.
