What was supposed to be a heated match between two undefeated teams turned into a one-sided affair in favor of the DLSU Lady Spikers.

Both DLSU and the NU Lady Bulldogs came into the game with identical 2-0 win-loss records. To further emphasize their dominance, both teams had yet to lose a set, winning their prior games in straight sets.

The defending three-time UAAP champion Lady Spikers proved that they are still the team to beat though, drubbing NU in straight sets, 25-8, 25-22, 25-19. Cyd Demecillo led the charge for DLSU with 13 points including three blocks while Mika Reyes and Abi Marano had 11 and 10 points respectively.

NU was bannered by the towering Santiago sisters, Dindin and Jaja, who had 12 and 10 points respectively.

After a lopsided first set, NU kept it close in the second set but the Lady Spikers were still able to pull away. Demecillo, and Marano spearheaded the charge for DLSU as they played with composure and successfully thwarted the NU rally. The third set was quite similar and the Lady Spikers eventually eked out the victory after a single block from Reyes.

Up next for the Lady Spikers are the winless UP Lady Maroons whom they will face on December 15, Sunday, at the San Juan Arena.
