In a finish that is unique to the sport of football, the DLSU Green Booters and the ADMU Blue Eagles finished with a goalless draw in the second round of the UAAP elimination round.

Despite this, the Green Booters remain at third place in the standings with 13 points, trailing the FEU Tamaraws, who sit atop the league with 18 points, and the UP Fighting Maroons, who have 15 points. Ateneo, the defending UAAP champions, remained at sixth place after the draw with six points, just ahead of NU.

DLSU controlled possession during the second half, with several attempts just missing the mark. Late in the match, Greggy Yang attempted a free kick at the 88th minute which went over the crossbar by just a few inches. Then just before time expired, Gio Diamanté broke away for a clean attempt which soared a few inches above the goal.

The Green Booters were without starters Nathan Alquiros and Nace Gonzales, as well as substitute Al Bustamante, as the trio missed the match due to injury.

This was the second match of the Green Booters for the second round. In their initial outing last January 9, La Salle overwhelmed UST, 3-2, behind goals from Matt Nierras, Noel Brago and Chuck Uy.

Before the match between the Green Booters and ADMU, the Lady Booters began their second round campaign with a 3-1 loss to UST. The Lady Booters scored the first goal of the match five minutes in, but by the 12th minute, UST scored two quick goals to take the lead. UST then closed the door for a DLSU rally with a goal in the 81st minute. UST continues to lead the Women’s Division with 10 points while DLSU is at fourth with four points.
