DANCELEBRATION is back for its first-ever online production from March 26-28, 2021. Although the March 26, 2021, showing at 6:00 PM is exclusive to DLSU students via Animospace, the two other showings are for audiences all over the globe. On March 27, 2021, at 7:00 PM, dancers and dance enthusiasts alike can view the production through its Facebook page: Dancelebration Official. As for March 28, 2021, Dancelebration will be streamed on the company’s official youtube channel, LSDC Contemporary, at 5:00 PM.
Dancelebration was famous for being the longest-running inter-school dance competition in Metro Manila, but as its new beginnings draw nearer, this becomes the perfect time to reminisce on its wondrous past. Produced by the La Salle Dance Company-Contemporary back in the 1980s, Dancelebration has already experienced countless talents from its three competition categories of High School, College-Contemporary/Modern/Jazz, and College-Street. Dancelebration also pioneered the concept of having a unique theme annually which added an element of excitement for audiences anticipating the interpretative choreographies.
This 2021, ‘Dancelebration: Showcase of Champions’ presents several amazing dance pieces of the past that truly embody the heart and legacy of Dancelebration in uniting dancers all over the metro to celebrate dance as one community. Other esteemed guests such as past participants, past judges, and past organizers will also grace the show with their stories and humbling experiences as a key factor in the success of Dancelebration through the years.
