PRESS RELEASE: The Rundown 2022—Youth at the Forefront of Change

This 2022, it is time to #MakeYourMove.

With the next Philippine general elections right around the corner, the voice of the youth is critical to defining the future of the country, especially as we try to recover from the adversities brought about by the pandemic.

The Rundown 2022: A Youth-Oriented Senate Elections Forum exists to highlight the Filipino youth and their significance in shaping the future. Built around the theme, “Youth at the Forefront of Change: Transforming Conversations into Collective Action,” it aims to provide impartial and educational information about the elections, the candidates, and the importance of voting, all made by the youth, for the youth.

Since 2013 and in every succeeding midterm and national election, The Rundown has been a consistent bridge between youth voters and the senatorial candidates. It is an opportunity for the latter to present their platforms, advocacies, and plans so that the former may better evaluate who they wish to support on the ballot.

For the first time in The Rundown history, the forum will be livestreamed on The Rundown: A Youth-Oriented Senate Elections Forum’s Facebook page this coming March 12, 2022, Saturday from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. The forum will also later be aired on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) March 19, 2022, Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and posted on ANC’s YouTube channel on March 21, 2022, Monday at 12pm. Viewers will have the opportunity to engage with the senatorial candidates through a series of panel discussions, rapid fire questions, and open forums in order to tackle relevant and dire issues in contemporary society.

As the country’s premiere youth-led senate elections forum, The Rundown 2022 continues its partnership with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and will be co-presented by Media Network ANC. In its previous installments, the forum has also been endorsed by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).
