PRESS RELEASE: Join DestiNasyon 2024 and Discover Your Advocacy

As we enter the season of sharing and generosity, let’s also celebrate the spirit of volunteerism as December 5 is also the International Volunteer Day. Join iVolunteer Philippines this year’s DestiNasyon as it will be bigger and more impactful. It will be a two-day event simultaneously happening in Manila and Davao. In DestiNasyon 2024, different paths are offered to volunteers to discover their advocacy and deepen their understanding of their volunteer journey. No matter your stage in the journey, the event could lead you to discover something new. Perhaps you’ll discover a love for helping communities that you never thought you had in you, or discover a greater purpose that you couldn’t find in your 9 to 5 job. Volunteering can be a chance for you to see not only yourself but also the world in a different lens, and ultimately, for you to discover how you can make a positive change in yourself and in the lives of others.

DestiNasyon is intended for individuals with previous volunteer experience who hope to further fuel that curiosity and continue their volunteer journey. Volunteers will be encouraged to commit to their advocacy goals, make it sustainable and influence others to do the same. For the first time since its first launch in 2020, DestiNasyon will be held for two days. In Manila, the event will run on December 6 and 7 from 9 am to 6 pm at the De La Salle University while a simultaneous event will be held in Davao’s Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao on December 7 from 9 am to 6 pm. People with previous volunteer experience will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of social issues and gain valuable insights from development sector leaders, role model volunteers, and nonprofit organizations. Those with no previous volunteer experience are also welcome to attend the event.

If you are a student or a professional who is into volunteerism, DestiNasyon can guide you in discovering your advocacy. It’s also a great avenue to connect with volunteers and our partner NGOs. For students, you get to explore new skills and gain volunteer opportunities that you can add to your portfolio – something that can be helpful when you’re seeking job opportunities in the future. For professionals, this is a chance for you to discover new goals that are different from your daily work. It can lead you to novel experiences that go beyond what you’re usually used to in your career. On the other hand, it can refine your existing skills and make use of these skills in helping communities who need support. The possibilities are endless, but one thing is for sure: You are going to discover something new and meaningful.
