PRESS RELEASE: Lasallian Interschool Training 2026

The next level begins here.

Every debater’s journey begins with a single opportunity to learn, challenge ideas, and find their voice. This July, the La Salle Debate Society invites aspiring debaters from across the country to embark on that journey through the Lasallian Interschool Training (LIT) 2026—a two-day debate workshop designed to cultivate confidence in public speaking, sharpen critical thinking, and strengthen competitive debating skills.

Taking place on July 18–19, 2026, LIT 2026 combines interactive lectures, practical workshops, and a mini tournament to provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to competitive debating. Open to high school and college novice debaters, the program offers an engaging learning environment where participants can develop their skills alongside peers from different institutions under the guidance of some of the country’s accomplished debaters and adjudicators.

Workshop and Lecture Series

July 18, 2026 | De La Salle University Manila

LIT 2026 begins with a full day of face-to-face lectures and workshops covering the fundamentals of argumentation, case building, rebuttal, adjudication, and speech delivery. Participants will also engage in hands-on activities designed to reinforce the concepts discussed throughout the sessions.

Leading the workshops are Bianca Raymundo, a National Debate Championship 2026 Quarterfinalist and experienced adjudicator; Kimberly Lopez, Grand Finalist and 8th Best Speaker of the National Debate Championship 2025 with extensive judging experience in national tournaments; and Mikee De Vega, ESL Champion and 3rd Best Speaker of the World Universities Debating Championship 2016 and a two-time Best Speaker of the Philippines.

Together, they bring years of competitive and adjudication experience, offering participants valuable insights into high-level debating.

Mini Tournament

July 19, 2026 | Online

The program concludes with an online mini tournament conducted in the Asian Parliamentary format. Featuring three preliminary rounds held via Zoom and Discord, the tournament allows participants to put their newly acquired skills into practice in a supportive competitive environment. Outstanding individual performances will also be recognized through the tournament’s Speaker Awards, celebrating excellence in public speaking and debate.

More than a training program, the Lasallian Interschool Training 2026 reflects the La Salle Debate Society’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of debaters. By creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and meaningful discourse, LIT continues to empower students to become more confident speakers, critical thinkers, and engaged members of their communities.
