1. The DLSU 100 peso bill was released on December 7, 2012, during the Animo Christmas celebration. The proposal, submission, evaluation and eventual approval of the bills took two years to complete.
2. The De La Salle Centennial Banknotes were made in celebration of a hundred years of Lasallian presence in the country in cooperation with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
3. The BSP printed around 10 million pesos worth of DLSU stamped bills; two million pesos of which are being distributed by the Accounting Office a month in advance, before the bill’s eventual public circulation.
4. Proceeds from the sale of the limited edition uncut De La Salle Centennial Banknotes will go to the One La Salle Scholarship Fund, the centerpiece project of La Salle’s centennial celebration in 2011. The One La Salle Scholarship campaign seeks to raise two billion pesos to support approximately 18,000 students on full scholarship in 17 La Salle schools nationwide.
5. Originally, the bill was supposed to have two logos. The De La Salle Brothers’ logo would have been smaller, and the official DLSU Manila logo would have been placed on top. Due to printing complications, however, only one logo was processed and can be seen on the official bill.
6. The logo was printed on ‘old generation’ 100 peso bills due to BSP policy that does not permit any establishments or institutions to have logos printed on the ‘new generation’ bills approved for circulation after 2010. It is also because of this policy that DLSU stands as the last institution to have its logo printed on peso bills.
