DLSU-STC recovers after typhoon Glenda

De La Salle University Science and Technology Complex (DLSU-STC) is currently undergoing repairs and cleaning operations after the onslaught of typhoon Glenda last week. As a follow-up on the current situation of the campus, DLSU-STC Safety and Security Officer Gerald Galza disseminated a status report yesterday.

The report stated repairs for the damages in Integrated Schools 1 and 2 have already been completed. Damaged ceilings of the Milagros del Rosario Building have been repaired, but the damaged doors are yet to be fixed. The buildings were also cleared from the debris caused by the typhoon.

Galza confirmed that the clearing of debris around DLSU-STC is now 90% complete.

The 4th One Run, One Familly, One La Salle Fun Run, which was supposed to take place at DLSU-STC, was also moved to August 2 due to damages in the Fun Run’s venue. It was announced last July 18 that registration is still open for those who are interested to join.

The Center for Concern and Social Action is currently conducting calamity relief assistance with external institutions and groups to aid communities affected by the typhoon.

Classes and office work at the DLSU-STC are still suspended tomorrow, July 22, according to tge Office of the President and Chancellor.

Typhoon Glenda caused extensive damages to property and power outages across several regions. Local broadsheets have reported that at least 1.6 million Filipinos were affected by the typhoon, with the death toll already at 94.
