For the past two years, the Philippine Senate Building has been opening its doors to hundreds of student leaders from across the nation for the Philippine Model Congress (PMC), the country’s premier government simulation program that is 100% student organized and fundraised.
Now on its third year, the PMC remains the pioneering program in the country that allows student leaders with a strong sense of civic responsibility to engage in open debates, caucuses, and plenary sessions for an accurate and effective experience of the Philippine legislative process. In light of the past two successful editions of the PMC, this year’s Philippine Model Congress Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that on September 13 and 14, the Philippine Senate will once again be opening its doors to 400 high school and college student leaders from around the country for the Philippine Model Congress 2014.
Endorsed by the Philippine Senate, the Department of Education, and the Commission on Higher Education, and modelled after conferences hosted by various international universities, the Philippine Model Congress is a collaborative effort of Filipino college students aimed at training the country’s future leaders and inspiring them to enter public service.
