This Christmas, The LaSallian interviewed several athletes from various sports, from those who played and represented the University in the first half of the UAAP season to the athletes preparing for the upcoming second half. Marcia Acuña from the Animo Squad, Lady Fencer Nichole Apacible, Green Tanker Red Silvestre, Green Trackster Kevin Chuang, and Lady Shuttler Meng Minuluan shared their wishes for this holiday season—from what they want to eat this noche buena, to simply wanting to spend Christmas with their loved ones.
Marcia Acuña, Cheerdance
“My wish this Christmas would be strength and improvement for myself and for the team. Strength not just physically but also mentally, and improvement in a sense that I would want the whole team to achieve either things we never thought we could do or things that we were too scared to try in the first place.”

“As an athlete, it’s our UAAP right now so I guess it would be an early Christmas wish for my team to do exceptionally well in all our games! But personally, I just wish that I can keep my relationships with my loved ones, family and friends happy and healthy cause they’re really important to me, especially right now that I’m transitioning from college to the real world.”

“Sana sinigang ulam namin sa noche buena and to have a good and healthy lifestyle even after my career as a college athlete.”

“My wish for this Christmas is to continue doing what I’m doing for the past years, striving hard for all the tasks for the next competition, of academics, and other things. And to continue to make my mom proud.”

“Yung wish ko is makauwi lang sa amin at makapiling ko yung family, and friends, and other teammates. And also Christmas wish ko din is maging successful yung pag-aaral ko dito sa La Salle at yung paglalaro ko din dito.”
(My wish is to be able to go home to our place and be with my family, friends, and other teammates. And also, my other Christmas wish is for my studies and my playing career here in La Salle to both be successful.)
