PRESS RELEASE: Students ‘Make it’ with Mondelez Philippines

Recently, the Company concluded its first-ever iTaste IL6S College League competition. This business case competition is focused on Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) Supply Chain and gave college students a taste of how to “Make it” in Mondelez Philippines.

Locally Mondelez Philippines employs more than 450 people in its Sucat, Paranaque office. Through the years the location has become a talent hub for Mondelēz International globally, exporting 70 talents across the globe including India, Vietnam, Australia and the United States in the past five years. The Company also has a Women Leadership Development focus, which has resulted in 56% of senior leaders being women. Its long-running Graduate Trainee program also offers more than a first job; it is a fast track to development program, with the aim of developing the future leaders of the Company.

​“We want to be able to share the unique experience of working in our Company, which is why we launched the first-ever iTaste IL6S College League,” shares Pangilinan.


A Competition for Engineering Students

The iTASTE or I Take A Step Towards Excellence is the Company’s business case competition for top students from different universities. The program aims to expose participants to real-life business scenarios.  iTASTE recently opened the iTaste IL6S College League aimed at ideating sustainable solutions towards productivity improvement inside a manufacturing plant. As part of the competition, four student groups were mentored by some of the best in the industry- our coaches, the makers and bakers of joy at Mondelez Philippines.

The competition was launched last November 11, 2019 and culminated last February 28, 2020 with the announcement of the three winning teams. The champion team received a cash prize as well as a fast track final interview for the Company’s Graduate Trainee Program. Out of 3 competing teams, it was Team Nutter Butter Boys of the De La Salle University – Manila who snagged the top prize for their case study to improve productivity inside the manufacturing plant.

​“Throughout the competition, participants were given the chance learn about the manufacturing industry as well as have a taste of daily life here in our Company. They got the chance to Make it with Pride, Make it Possible, Make it with Impact and Make it Uniquely Theirs throughout the process,” ends Pangilinan. “We are proud makers and bakers with snacking in our veins. We pour our passion into every product and process. No one knows snacking better than us and that’s the experience we share. We Make it MDLZ!”
