The season has opened for 2021 as the Office Counseling and Career Services (OCCS) holds its first edition of the Biannual Job Expo 2021 on March 15 to 19, 2021 via ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCES with the theme: Yugto: Reach for New Horizons.
Through the years, OCCS is committed to its mission of providing job placement services and career opportunities to the Lasallian community. With the changes brought by the pandemic, OCCS will be conducting its biannual job expo virtually through various online platforms. The theme Yugto emphasizes the power and influence of new beginnings as it presents yearning towards taking steps forward and reaching a new horizon amidst life’s drastic changes. Highlighting growth and progress, it gives credence to the Lasallian education that transforms and nurtures Lasallian achievers. The tagline “reach for new horizons” encourages Lasallians to explore new prospects, platforms, and possibilities with emerging technologies. Equipped with knowledge and skillsets, Lasallians are ready to lead and take over the present. This year’s theme accentuates Lasallian competence that translates from the virtual set-up to the real world.
Over 50 local and multinational companies from different industries, together with several non-government organizations (NGOs) and government agencies, will be participating in the Virtual Job Expo. Despite the limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Lasallians will still be able to interact with the participating companies’ representatives by visiting the virtual company booths that will be held in Zoom through its breakout rooms function. Each company will have its own breakout room or zoom link on the entire job expo week. Lasallians must use their updated zoom accounts to be able to self-select breakout rooms and transfer from one company booth to another seamlessly. Company events such as career and recruitment talks will also happen during the job expo week. These events will be an avenue for Lasallians in establishing connections and orienting themselves about the background of various companies.

The virtual Job Expo welcomes the Lasallian community, including senior high school, alumni, and students from other La Salle schools. Together, let’s reach for new horizons. DLSU students and alumni will be able to access the links using their active DLSU email-addresses while students of other La Salle schools must send an access request using their official student email addresses (EDU email address).
