Rome, April 7. “Futura” by Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi and Alice Rohrwacher is the winning film of the 11th edition of the Moviemov Italian Film Festival, which took place from March 31 to April 4, thanks also to the collaboration with My Movies.
The winning film will be awarded on April 13 at 20.45 in Rome at the Cinema Farnese immediately before the award ceremony of the Asian Film Festival, which is now ongoing in Rome, with a selection of 4 films from the Philippines.
The award will be presented by Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli–artistic directors of Moviemov Italian Film Festival–to two of the three filmmakers of Futura, Francesco Munzi and Pietro Marcello, as well as to the producer Gabriele Genuino.
This 11th edition of Moviemov, which celebrated the great Italian cinema in the Philippines and Thailand, reached 6,000 spectators including screenings and talks and 120,000 online interactions.
Also this year, Moviemov Italian Film Festival organized many virtual encounters with actors and directors who presented the films in the main program: “Il Legionario” by Hleb Papou, “Takeaway” by Renzo Carbonera, “Futura” by Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi, Alice Rohrwacher, “Ariaferma” by Leonardo Di Costanzo, “Qui rido io” by Mario Martone, “Marx può aspettare” by Marco Bellocchio, “La tana” by Beatrice Baldacci (educational component). Among the guests who participated in the review: Antonia Truppo, Paolo Calabresi, Carlotta Antonelli, Anna Ferruzzo and the directors Hleb Papou, Renzo Carbonera and the actor Lorenzo Richelmy, film ambassador of this edition and protagonist of the film “Diario di spezie”, first feature by Massimo Donati, which was presented in preview.
Moviemov Italian Film Festival is realized thanks to the Italian Ministry of Culture, under the Auspices of the Italian Embassies in Bangkok and Manila, in collaboration with PIA Philippine Italian Association, FDCP Film Development Council of the Philippines and several Philippine universities: MINT College, UP Film Institute, Xavier University, Ateneo de Cagayan, Ateneo de Manila, Saint Benilde SDA, Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, Lyceum of Cavite, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Far Eastern University, University of the Philippines – Los Baños, University of the Cordilleras – College of Arts and letters; as well as Savage Minds and Ateneo de Naga University Press and the student organizations Ateneo Association of European Studies Students, UP EURO-Philippines and the Communication Program Council of De La Salle University Dasmariñas.
It was also presented on the occasion of the “100 years since the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini” a tribute to the great director with the screening of the following films: “Mamma Roma” by P.P. Pasolini and “La rabbia di Pasolini” directed by P.P. Pasolini and realized by Giuseppe Bertolucci.
MOVIEMOV ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL
Produced and organized by the cultural association Playtownroma and directed by Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli, the Moviemov Italian Film Festival is an itinerant festival born in 2010 thanks to the support of the General Direction for Cinema, the Italian Ministry of Culture, in collaboration and at the urging of the Italian Embassies in Bangkok, Manila and Hanoi, with the support of both Italian and international public institutions and private partners. The primary objective of the festival is the construction of a platform for the cultural promotion and distribution of new Italian cinema in Southeast Asia.
