[DLS-CSB] APOH 2024 INVITES YOU TO “KALINGA:COMMUNITY TIES” CULMINATING EXHIBITIONTITLE OF ARTICLE

Experience the impact of interior design with APOH (Awakening the Pride of the Olden Hope), a project presented by the Interior Design students of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde through their week-long culminating exhibit, “Kalinga: Community Ties” at Building A, 4/F, Activity Center Railings, Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

As they celebrate their design journey and community impact, this exhibition is open to the public from August 6 (Tuesday) until August 11 (Wednesday). Visitors, outsiders, students, families, and everyone else are very much welcome to visit!

This culminating exhibit is inspired by the Filipino concept of “Kalinga” (care), which showcases APOH’s dedication to applying Interior Design skills to our renovation project in the Magsilay community. Meanwhile, “Community Ties” celebrates teamwork and the strong bonds that APOH has formed with Magsilay, highlighting our commitment and the stories of its members.

With this, an opening ceremony will be held on August 5 (Monday). This significant event will feature Team APOH, key figures from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Magsilay Community representative/s, sponsors, media partners, and the supportive parents of the 34 students from this 3-month long Service Learning Project.

The Team APOH is composed of 34 students of the Interior Design Exhibit (INTDXHI) class under the supervision of IDr. Karol Ann Antonio and IDr. Randy Pabona. This year, they launched INTDXHI 2024 APOH: Awakening the Pride of the Olden Hope, a project that focuses on providing a suitable space for the elderly through the renovation and design of the Senior Citizen Center of the Magsilay Community, an adoptive community of De La Salle Philippines (DLSP), located in Barangay Magsilay, Pasil, Kalinga Province, Cordillera Administrative Region of Luzon, Philippines

With their advocacy for elderly empowerment through cultural reconnection, APOH aims to provide them an opportunity to impart their traditions, values, and wisdom to strengthen their social inclusion and uplift their dignity. Thereby, instilling a new sense of purpose and truly Awakening the Pride of Olden Hope (APOH). As Team APOH concludes on this journey of empowering and improving the lives and well-being of the Lolos and Lolas in Magsilay Community, they hope to promote Magsilay’s culture and revitalize their community pride through this event!
