PRESS RELEASE: BYD Tech Tour DLSU – Power Shift: Transportation for Tomorrow

A streamline of automobile innovation is bound to arrive on campus as BYD (Build Your Dreams) Tech Tour is set to showcase an immersive exhibit to the Lasallian Community for the first time, featuring the latest electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle models from BYD. It will take place from February 10 to 12, 2025 at Henry Sy Sr. Hall Grounds (HSSH) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, openly inviting the whole of the De La Salle University population, such as Senior High School (SHS) students, undergraduate students, and faculty members. This is part of an honoring partnership between Eco Archers Team and its 2024 team sponsor, ACMobility, and it falls in-line with the committed pursuit of both the organization and the Ayala subsidiary to uplift innovation towards sustainable mobility in the field of transportation. 

The exhibits will house several of the latest BYD vehicles. A low-power charging station will also be brought to the event for a live demonstration of the usage of charging electric vehicles. Furthermore, product specialists from BYD Cars Philippines will also be present to accommodate the curiosities of Lasallians about the specifications and key features of electric vehicles. There will also be immersive activities that visitors can participate to which will enable a chance for them to win exclusive prizes from ACMobility. 

Being part of an influential partnership rectifies an initiative to also innovate some of its own. The Eco Archers Team is also set to present their latest generation model of battery-electric Urban Concept vehicle, “Zeta”. The tech tour marks the first public appearance of the vehicle on campus after the annual Shell Eco-marathon competition last July 2024 in Indonesia. Zeta is the 9th iteration of innovation of the team, marking a continuous staple of innovative automobile designs through research and technology. 

The BYD Tech Tour ensures engagement towards Lasallians toward the measures of awareness and information about the particular benefits of using electric vehicle technology and its impact on environmental sustainability. EV technology seeps through the opportunity of creating a new generation of automotive efficiency towards a greener future, putting forth environmental conservation while at the same time enriching advanced research and development in Philippine transportation. 

The event also aims to reassure individuals about the benefits and expectations of owning hybrid/electric vehicles. Having recognized that going fully electric is one of the key underlying solutions for the environment when it comes to sustainable transportation, it is only about having the awareness of being informed about shifting from the norm of the past, bringing in the concept from the Eco Archers Team and the reality from BYD, all for empowering sustainability and innovation of the present and the future.
