ENGenium 2026: The Path Forward has Always Been Upward

Soaring past limits, ENGenium has always pursued the frontiers of innovation. In an attempt to defy gravity, ENGenium 2026 is gearing up to go beyond flight and into orbit.

Back for its 4th iteration, the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers – De La Salle University (PSME-DLSU) Student Unit proudly unveils its annual headline event—ENGenium 2026. This event features two main highlights: ENGenium Cup 2026: An Interschool Grand Prix, a robotics competition on March 11, 2026, at The Verdure, and Endeavour 2026: Bound for the Beyond, a conference spotlighting space industry developments, happening on March 14, 2026, at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium.

ENGenium Cup 2026: An Interschool Grand Prix drives engineering beyond reimagined limits. Featuring innovative students nationwide, 17 teams will face head-to-head in a clash of speed and mechatronic design. Competitors will navigate their remote-controlled automobiles through tight turns, a steeply arched bridge, and full-throttle straightaways. This PSME-DLSU-designed track challenges both precision and control, daring teams to survive. And with glory on the line, only one team will make it to the top.

This grand prix champions engineering ingenuity above all, with each design evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges. Back on the track, Ms. Reinna Biaca, an industrial designer from Dyson, and Engr. Leo San Juan of Speedworks Engineering marks their grand return. Launching onto the scene, Space Systems Engineer Manuel Jr. Del Rosario of the Philippine Space Agency brings his robotics expertise to the table. Together, these industry veterans deliver extensive knowledge and hard-earned experiences to discern which team dominates all.

Endeavour 2026: Bound for the Beyond opens the doors of DLSU to the global space community, bridging academe and industry through direct engagement with the technologies and careers shaping the field today. More than a conference, this event positions the country’s aspiring engineers at the forefront of discovery, connecting them with the technologies, careers, and international partnerships that will define our future beyond Earth.

Endeavour 2026 unites visionaries who live and breathe the cosmos. The conference opens with an inspirational message from Ms. Kristine Atienza, the first Filipino Analog Astronaut. This is followed by Ms. Marie Monica Sillona, Liaison Officer from the National Copernicus Capacity Support Action Programme (CopPhil) who will offer a comprehensive view of the space industry from engineering to policy.

The program then ventures into the commercial space sector with Global Space Strategy & Policy expert Antonio Stark, before diving into the frontlines of space exploration with Patricia Vicente, Deputy System Manager at NASA.

The second part of the event will also feature a special film screening with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Moreover, in a historic session, the dynamic duo of Jussi Halmetoja, Senior Operations Advisor at Saab AB and former Gripen test pilot, and Christer Fuglesang, Strategic Planning & Development Analyst at Saab AB and a former ESA Astronaut, share perspectives on engineering at the edge of possibility.

Launching the ENGenium 2026 experience into its next orbit is an interactive exhibit powered by industry trailblazers. Key figures in the field, such as CopPhil and Saab AB, will feature their cutting-edge technologies at the Cory Aquino Democratic Space on March 13-14, along with many more that will highlight the latest advancements shaping the field of engineering.

With this year’s theme, ENGenium 2026 calls on the next generation of engineers and industry leaders to take part in a defining moment for the country. The Endeavour 2026 conference offers a platform to expand horizons, while the ENGenium Cup continues to highlight the best of student innovation.

The countdown to the future has begun. Will you be onboard?
