The Ankylosaurus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Barynoyx, Mosasaurus, and the hybrid abomination, Indominus rex. These are just a few of the new dinosaurs that were unveiled in Jurassic World, the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park film series. On July 19, 2007, American network AMC launched its first original drama, a big gamble for a basic cable channel mostly known for airing old and obscure films. Reportedly costing over $3 million, the pilot episode of Mad Men was a huge risk. What was the pitch? A period drama set during the 1960s and…
“Avengers –,” Chris Evans’ Captain America begins his signature cry with conviction before being cut off prematurely to black. There is an aura of enchantment whenever people watch superhero films. Rant and Rave: Glee
“They say you have to lose everything before you find yourself,” Leroy Berry tells his daughter Rachel Berry as she comes home with her proverbial tail between her legs. Based on the heartwarming play of Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, Dani Girl explores the reality of cancer from a child’s perspective. In this musical, you’ll get to experience Dani Lyons’ adventures with her teddy bear, Mr. Fritz, and friends Raph and Marty, as she tries to understand the meaning of her cancer and the trivialities that come with it.
It’s very difficult to look for a film that will tick all of one’s expectations. Judging by a trailer alone would be sketchy and irresponsible, especially now that films are being marketed as “thoughtful and delectable” but end up being plain disappointing.
The Fault in Our Stars
Bring tissue, indeed, because the tale of two cancer-stricken teens, who are both desperate to make the most out of their little infinity, is apparently too heavy a burden for human hearts to carry (and here, you may heave a sigh at the futility of mankind to easily fall for plotlines of the sort).
