2011: Lady Woodpushers reign, Rookie-MVP Fronda emerge

Lady Woodpusher Jan Jodilyn Fronda did not fail to deliver and emerged triumphant during her meet in the last UAAP Season 73 Chess Championship.

The Lady Woodpushers recruits contributed significantly to the win. Fronda’s performance was a standout with a 14-0 victory. Incidentally, this earned her the rights to bag both the Rookie of the Year and MVP award. Her win pulled the team up to the top rank of Season 73.

Coach Randy Segarra acknowledges the gifted rookie’s strategy, describing her as someone capable of setting her own play. He supports her enthusiasm and is pleased with the results of her strategies.

Due to her unique tactics, which have continually worked for the team, the team is confident and determined to bag the championship this season.

The team is now preparing for Season 74 through regular trainings, designed to help the Green-and-White Woodpushers sharpen their tactical abilities.

The team also attended various tournaments to give them the chance to evaluate and appraise their strategies of future competitors.
