Effective two-way communication and efficient information dissemination has always been key to uplifting every Lasallian student life. From important announcements to introducing opportunities available for the student body, the USG uses several communication platforms to connect with its constituents. The Office of the Executive Secretary, with the vision of “Bridging the Gap Across All Sectors through Effective Communication” proudly presents COMMUNICATIONS FAIR 2018, a 3-day event from January 23-25, 2018 at the Henry Sy Grounds.
Communications Fair is OSEC’s staple project, first launched in 2014. After two years, OSEC once again launches the project, featuring four stations with different activities symbolizing the communication channels used to connect with the student body. True to its nature, the team behind Communications Fair 2018 partnered with the Student Media Organization which includes The Lasallian, Plaridel, Archers Network, and Green Giant FM. To end the fair, there will be a “USG Night” on January 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the 4th floor of Henry Sy Sr. Hall, with an objective to internally unite the University Student Government and actively promote communication tools through a fun-filled game night open for all.
According to Trish Andulte, this year’s Executive Secretary, “Communications Fair aims to introduce and give emphasis to the communication channels students can use as a catalyst for engagement within and beyond the university. Some of the communication modes we wish to inform the students about includes the featured Student Companion Mobile Application, USG Text Messaging System, USG Telegram Bot, as well as the different Student Media Organizations (SMOs) inside DLSU”.
