The third Term Institutional Orientation for New Graduate Students for AY 2012-2013 was held last January 5, 2012 at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium (TYA). The regularly held orientation seminar serves as a primer for new graduate students to orient them to the different rules, regulations, facilities and offices of the University.
Among the policies and services discussed were the Student Discipline Formation Office’s (SDFO) discipline guidelines and the Information Technology Services Office’s (ITS) online facilities. Students also listened to an overview of the new University Learning Commons found at the Henry Sy Sr. Hall.
Associate Vice Chancellor for Lasallian Mission Br. Michael Broughton FSC gave the opening remarks. Graduate Student Council College of Liberal Arts (CLA) President Mary Elizabeth Nave served as the event’s host.
The orientation is sponsored by The Office of Student Leadership Involvement, Formation and Empowerment (S-LIFE) and is held every term. Attendance to the said seminar is mandatory. Failure to attend the orientation seminar during a graduate student’s first three terms in the University will prevent a student from being cleared.
