Br. Ricky announces search and nominations committee results

In a letter released on the DLSU Bulletin, University President and Chancellor Br. Ricky Laguda FSC announced the results of the almost two month long search for new administrators that started last December 11, 2012.

The bulletin reads, “After a process of consultation, and after ascertaining the best interests of the University, I am pleased to announce the following appointments:

Vice President for DLSU Science and Technology Complex: Dr. Julius B. Maridable
Vice President for Finance: Mr. Nilo L. Pacheco
Vice President for Administration: Mr. Edwin P. Santiago
Vice Chancellor for Lasallian Mission: Br. Michael J. Broughton FSC
Vice Chancellor for Academics: Dr. Myrna S. Austria
Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation: Dr. Arnulfo P. Azcarraga”

Not so different

In an interview with The LaSallian last month, Br. Ricky clarified that the formation of the committee was made to verify and affirm the confidence of University stakeholders in the current administrators. Moreover, Br. Ricky stressed that the initiative does not necessarily imply a change in leadership of the central administration offices.

Five out of six central administrators were reappointed to continue their post in their respective offices. The retained administrators include Dr. Julius B. Maridable, Mr. Nilo L. Pacheco, Dr. Myrna S. Austria, Br. Michael J. Broughton FSC and Dr. Arnulfo P. Azcarraga.
Mr. Edwin Santiago is the current University Registrar.

The appointed administrators will assume office on May 16, 2013 for a period of one year.

In his letter to the University stakeholders, Br. Ricky added, “Moving forward, I am acutely aware of the many challenges and opportunities facing our institution. At the same time, I am also filled with hope and optimism that our University will emerge far stronger and agile in providing better services to the rest of the educational community as we continuously adapt to the fast changing environment.”
