It’s about time we move

  • Anonymus

I have met Robert personally and kitang kita ko sa kanya na gusto niya talaga tong position na to. Na gusto niyang pagsilbihan ang DLSU. Sige, may mga panahon na nagiging “over-friendly” ang mga candidates during elections. Pero ganun naman talaga diba? What do you expect na gawin nila, tumahimik nalang at walang gawin para hindi masabihang trapo? They HAVE to campaign if they want to win. Kung napakadali para sa inyong sabihing trapo ang isang tao, either wala kayong alam sa pag-campaign or kabisado at alam na alam niyo na ang pasikot sikot sa mundo ng pulitika. These people wants to serve the university and knowing its people is a part of it tapos sasabihan lang silang trapo? Let’s stop the hate.

People should seriously sTop the negative campaigning which is very evident with this parTicular parTy. Learn from Last Sunday’s gospel, he who hath no sin, CAST THE FIRST STONE. Learn to just focus on what you can do rather than highlighting what others have/have not done because it makes you look like whiners more than winners. Prove to the students you are worth their vote with the amount of work you put in….and please MOVE ON.

I dont like Migi Moreno as if he actually did a survey / a study with what he claimed during the MDA. He said that his friends said that the USG was not felt. Tell me, Migi, who are these friends of yours?

Are they the ones who need STUDENT INITIATED SCHOLARSHIP? Those who need LOANS which are PROVIDED BY STUDENT OFFICES?

C’mon! Prove your claims! Show your SPECIFIC PLANS. All you say is refocus, spolight others. BUT WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

The USG has just been doing their job and as well as the professional organizations. WE SHINE IN DIFFERENT LIGHTS. PLEASE, PLEASE, dont just say that to get people to vote you. PLEASE.

    • Lily

lol, I’m a normal student. I don’t feel the USG. I’ve got a couple of friends who feel the same. Why don’t you try asking around?

    • Bubu

Mind you, the words “USG was not felt” is not the same with “USG did not do anything”.

USG did do many things. I mean, the scholarships and loans you mentioned… These are neat things! But the fact that the a number of students do not feel USG is alarming. Perhaps what the student mass would put primary concern on is more than just scholarships and loans. Perhaps… what is deemed important by the USG so far is different from what your regular students deem as important?

Hence the “not felt” presence of USG. This is just basics of the greatest good, Anon.

      What is the greatest good?
Is it what the USG deem as good? Or is it what the students mismo deem as good?

This is very reductionist and is not applicable since postmodernism is taking center stage. But hey, don’t you think this is something you should think about?

    • Nina

I get your point that the USG has been doing their job. I know this for a fact because I participate in these activities. But as pointed out in Migi’s speech during the MDA, he clearly stated the problem that the students do not feel the USG. I share this sentiment as a regular student. It’s weird don’t you think despite the fact that they have so many projects and activities for the students?

As a student, I feel that the USG does not represent the students well when it comes to the issues that many students face. Yes, there may be scholarships for students, there are better facilities, there may be projects addressing students to engage in national issues, but what about the rights of the students in the university? Have they been well addressed by the USG? Has the USG made the students aware of their rights? Do the students enjoy these rights or is there a need to do something about it?

I’m sure Migi has specific plans — like all other candidates. I’m sure that everyone has great plans envisioned for the students. I feel this comment is not necessary to bash this candidate.
